Boundless: God’s Relentless Love in Hosea
The story of the prophet Hosea is an incredible illustration of God’s relationship with God’s people. The four major themes of Hosea's God-ordained journey each reveal just how incredibly boundless God's love is. God’s sovereignty is boundless, God’s compassion is boundless, God’s promises are not limited by the actions of others, and God is relentless in bringing people back to love.
June 2: “It’s Not Over Yet”
Text: Hosea 1:1-11
Through the illustration of Hosea marrying a prostitute, God reveals to us that and that divine forgiveness is available to us today regardless of our past.
June 9 (Pentecost): “Making Good on a Promise”
Text: Hosea 2:14-23
God used the names of Hosea’s children to pronounce His grievances with the people of Israel. Yet, even in the midst of this, God references the promises made to Abraham, teaching us that we can trust in God’s promises.
June 16 (Father’s Day): “A Reckless Grace”
Text: Hosea 3:1-5
Much like Hosea sacrificed to free Gomer, God made the greatest sacrifice to free us from our sin: Jesus Christ.
June 23: “Running Back to God”
Text: Hosea 5:15-6:3
Like God commanded Israel: when you are judged for your sin or when you hit rock bottom, don’t get bitter. Instead, run to God.
