A CHURCH THAT SHOWS UP

“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” - John 13:35

You are invited to make an impact!

We believe God calls each of us to change the world for the better! At Wesley, we don’t sit on the sidelines. We get out of our seats and into the streets to care for our neighbors. Join a community outreach and serve the hungry and homeless in NJ. Or go global and help with Nyagidha Education Center in Kenya on the other side of the world.

Weekly Mission

Ending Local Hunger.

We are big on feeding people. We collect food for South Plainfield Social Services and partner with New Dover UMC in Edison to make hundreds of sandwiches and collect food for St. Joseph's Food Distribution Center in Elizabeth every Friday.

For more information, click here. To join the Bread Breakers team (Monday night @ 7:00 PM) or arrange drop offs through Wesley Church, please contact Connie Palmer.

We delivered more than 100,000 sandwiches
since the pandemic.

Monthly Missions

This July and August, our mission focus turns to local outreach as we work to fill 50 backpacks for students in South Plainfield whose families are experiencing financial hardship. These backpacks will be packed with essential supplies for elementary, middle, and high school students, helping to give them a strong and confident start to the new school year. A list of school supplies needed will be shared in the coming weeks. Thank you for your continued generosity and support!

Missions Update

From the Mission Team (7/19/2025)

The shopping list for the South Plainfield Social Services Department: pasta, snacks, crackers, cookies, beef stew, tuna, shampoo and rinse, Chef Boyardee, sides, instant potatoes, canned fruit, oil, and flour. The Palmers are away but you can leave donations at the church and Patti Taber will drop them off at social services on Tuesday.

We have begun our summer campaign to collect donations to fill 50 backpacks for children K–HS who are served by the Social Services Department. There is a list in the bulletin which we will try to update weekly. Collection bins have been set up in the narthex and Fellowship Hall.

Have a great summer. Stay cool!
