A CHURCH THAT SHOWS UP

“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” - John 13:35

You are invited to make an impact!

We believe God calls each of us to change the world for the better! At Wesley, we don’t sit on the sidelines. We get out of our seats and into the streets to care for our neighbors. Join a community outreach and serve the hungry and homeless in NJ. Or go global and help with Nyagidha Education Center in Kenya on the other side of the world.

Weekly Mission

Ending Local Hunger.

We are big on feeding people. We collect food for South Plainfield Social Services and partner with New Dover UMC in Edison to make hundreds of sandwiches and collect food for St. Joseph's Food Distribution Center in Elizabeth every Friday. Needed items include pasta, snacks, crackers, cookies, beef stew, tuna, shampoo, cream rinse, Chef Boyardee, sides, potatoes, fruits, oil, and flour.

For more information, click here. To join the Bread Breakers team (Monday night @ 7:00 PM) or arrange drop offs through Wesley Church, please contact Connie Palmer.

We delivered more than 100,000 sandwiches
since the pandemic.

Monthly Missions

June Mission

This month, our mission campaign supports Heifer International in its fight against hunger and poverty worldwide.

Missions Update

From the Mission Team (6/12/2026):

Plan B, packing lunches on Tuesday morning went well.  We packed 133 lunches and delivered them to Plainfield.  The refrigerator is sc for repair on Saturday, but there is the possibility that we will have to go to plan B again and pack on Tuesday morning at 8.  If you bring sandwiches on Sunday please place in the kitchen refrigerator.

We were a little light, packing only 176 lunches for Elizabeth last Friday.

Hope you are all having fun participating in the Penny War to raise money for Heifer international.  If you haven’t been assigned a team, take an envelope out of the basket in Fellowship Hall to receive your team color, then start dropping your coins in your contain of choice.  Remember, Pennie’s and paper money go to the positive and silver coins go to the negative.  So add to your own color or sabotage your opponents.  At the end of the month, prizes will be awarded to the team who has collected the most money.
